Rupinder Kaur

Founder

Meet Rupinder Kaur, an integrative designer, educator, and social entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience. Driven by a deep-seated desire to make a meaningful difference, she founded The Mango House Trust, a design-led organization dedicated to sustainable social impact. Rupinder believes that the craft skills and resilience of women, combined with contemporary design collaboration, can catalyze growth for marginalized communities and the planet.

As the founder of Daalcheeni, a boutique graphic design and creative branding studio, Rupinder has crafted compelling identities and communication materials for a diverse range of prestigious organisations, including the United Nations, WHO, and the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change. Notably, her publication "The Climate Climb" was presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Pope Francis, showcasing her work's global impact.

Rupinder's tenure as an Assistant Professor of Design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) further solidified her reputation as a thought leader in design. Through her tireless dedication and unwavering passion, she empowers individuals to enact positive change within their communities.

Ruchi Bhakoo

Design and Innovation

Meet Ruchi Bhakoo, the eclectic designer shaping The Mango House's avant- garde creations. With over 20 years of experience, Ruchi seamlessly integrates timeless craftsmanship, sustainable and ethical practices into our design-led approach. Her mindful design process combines aesthetics and functionality, rendering traditional crochet crafts into bespoke, eco-chic pieces. For Ruchi, The Mango House is where passion meets purpose.

A design graduate, Ruchi co-founded the fashion label Indian Ocean, making her mark in the retail fashion industry. Her journey includes collaborations with renowned fashion brands and guest speaker roles at prestigious fashion colleges. However, her true passion lies in reviving heirloom garments in her atelier, where she meticulously oversees every aspect of the production process.

By day, Ruchi is a design maverick and product innovator; by night, she is an free spirited illustrator, capturing unfeigned emotions and everyday stories with a refreshing perspective told through her paintbrush on Instagram at @ruchibhakoo.art.

Introducing Kavita Pandya, the vibrant Craft Trainer at The Mango House. As a Social Design Thinker, Kavita seamlessly blends market trends with product relevance, bringing a unique perspective to her role. She excels at collaborating and co-creating, offering innovative design solutions across various industries.

Beyond training women and small producer groups in skill development, Kavita also contributes to design education as a visiting faculty member and mentor at NIFT. Her passion, dedication, and empathy shine through in everything she does, making her an invaluable asset to our team.

A talented crocheter and craft trainer, Kavita continues to inspire and empower those around her, embodying the spirit of The Mango House.
